This latest animated series, the most recent animated series by Critical Role, revealed an exciting opening credits. It showcases our favorite group of outcasts, outcasts, and criminals kicking ass and taking names, while teasing at multiple agonizing backstories for characters such as the voice actor's mage Caleb, and Travis Willingham's warlock orc, Fjord.

Overall, the opening looks stunning. But I couldn't help feeling that an element was missing in the music selection.

This sequence uses "Welcome to the Continent", an exceptional song composed by artist the talented musician. This piece originating from the official score of that title, the second release released by Critical Role Productions LLC's music division their music brand. It's a great nostalgic choice, and I believe that fans of the sequel series will appreciate its presence.

But for me, The series' intro fails to capture the excitement and energy that accompanied the show's live-play sessions. "It's Your Turn", composed by musician Jason Charles Miller, was an instant classic in my view when it was initially unveiled in that year, and it only got better when cast member the performer added lyrics to the tune for the animated Campaign 2 opening in 2018.

Featuring vocals from Ashley Johnson, another performer, Travis Willingham, as well as Riegel himself, the track was catchy and enjoyable. Back then, I hadn't even watched the second campaign at that point, but this was such an earworm that I kept it on my phone. This track that excites you before you start an installment of fantasy hijinks.

The show's intro with "Welcome to Wildemount" fails to hit the right notes for me. It's a grand composition, but from what I know of the group, I feel that its tone is a little off.

Of course, the creators has stated that the series will have some surprises and variations from the original live sessions. A tonal change for its opening seems to be among these.
