Siblings Valentino Nikolov and Giacomo, their sister Jela Jovanovic and her child Charlie Jovanovic travelled to the northeastern of England to raid multiple homes in April 2024. The foursome were jailed for from a decade or less in May 2025. At a criminal assets hearing at the court, Jela Jovanovic and the Nikolov brothers were ordered to pay back £1 each while Charlie Jovanovic must hand over £1,135. Details of the Break-ins The judge previously heard the gang arrived by boat in the UK on March 27, 2024 and used a RV as their "base of operations", which they stationed at a service area and Durham service stations while using another car to search for targets and carry out burglaries. On March 31 they took more than £1m of items including high-end fashion, handbags, jewelry and a CBE medal from a house on Clayton Road in Jesmond, while the residents were away. Valentino was the only one of the foursome to contest the charge but was convicted by jurors The next evening, the gang entered a home on a private road in Whitburn, and stole designer handbags, valuables and footwear valued at more than one hundred thousand pounds. After scouting out the football club's training ground for two days, they then struck at the home of Sweden player Mr Isak in Darras Hall, Ponteland on 4 April, taking ten thousand pounds in cash, sixty-eight thousand pounds worth of jewellery and the striker's £120,000 Audi RS6. The group, who were portrayed by prosecutors as professional touring burglars, wore hand coverings and masks, turned their phones off as they neared their objectives and attached a number plate, which had been stolen from a garage in a town, on to their vehicle with elastic bands. They were apprehended in the Birmingham area on April 13. The judge Robert Spragg said if they were found with assets in the coming years, "for example driving around in Italy in a sports car or possessing a home", the prosecution could seek new proceedings to "satisfy the amount outstanding".
