The suspect believed to be the recent fatal violence at Brown University authorities state committed suicide on Thursday evening, as stated by officials.

He was found at a storage location on Thursday evening, according to information citing an enforcement source. This suspect is also believed of the murder of a Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor at a residence in the Boston area.

“He ended his own life tonight,” announced the head of the Providence police department during a press conference.

The chief identified the deceased man as Claudio Nevis Valenti, a 48-year-old student at Brown University.

This news follows a significant law enforcement operation at a storage facility in Salem, New Hampshire earlier on Thursday. Journalists on scene described seeing numerous agents in tactical gear entering the premises.

The intensive search for the shooter had restarted on Monday after state prosecutors revealed that a person of interest on Sunday had been let go. This turn of events was acknowledged to be likely to cause fresh anxiety for the city residents.

Local officials noted that while the release was a disappointment, the broader investigation continued without interruption.

The two students who were killed in the attack have been named by family. They are Ella Cook, a sophomore from Alabama who was active in a campus political group, and MukhammadAziz Umurzokov, an international student in his freshman year who aspired to a neurosurgeon.
